Spokane County Sheriff's Deputies Save Mans Life
On Thursday, April 26th, Deputy Ray Miller saw a vehicle blocking 37th Street while patrolling near the area of Thorpe and Assembly Road. Deputy Miller could see the driver's side door was open and that there was one occupant in the driver's seat of the vehicle.
As Deputy Miller responded, off-duty Sheriff's Deputy Mat...t Gould stopped at the truck and told Deputy Miller he thought the driver needed medical assistance.
When Deputy Miller arrived he found an 84 year old male in the driver's seat of the vehicle. The driver told Deputy Miller he had just eaten some oatmeal and coffee at a restaurant and did not feel well. The driver could not stop vomiting and refused medical
assistance. Deputy Miller noticed the driver was sweating, was pale and chose to call medics.
Medics from Fire District 10 arrived on scene and confirmed there appeared to be an abnormality with the driver's heart. Deputy Miller secured the driver's vehicle at the scene. Medics from Fire District 10 contacted Deputy Miller later and told him the driver
had just came out of open heart surgery as he was having a heart attack when Deputy Miller contacted him.
