Veteran Services - Eligibility Criteria and Types of Services Available
Eligibility Criteria
BEFORE we can assist veterans, state law requires us to obtain certain “qualifying” documentation. All veterans who receive services from our office must provide “PROOF”* of the following:
1. Proof of Honorable Discharge (DD-214) from the Armed Forces of the United States & Have Completed Service Obligations. *also bring marriage license and minor children’s birth certificates if applicable. Honorable Military Service is defined by RCW 41.04.007

2. Proof of Residency in the State of Washington for at least 12 months AND must be currently residing in Spokane County.

NEW CLIENTS are taken between the hours of 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM, Monday through Friday or by appointment. If you are new, we STRONGLY encourage you to call first before coming in. NOTE: We do not see NEW CLIENTS on the 1st day of every month, please plan accordingly and call us if you have any questions: 509-477-3690.
Types of Emergency Services Available
Our “emergency assistance”, a.k.a. (Relief), is provided in Voucher form to a specific vendor (for example: grocery store, landlord...) for the following emergency related needs:

In addition to emergency financial aid, we offer information services and assistance on a variety of Veteran’s benefits, such as applying for military discharge papers (DD-214). Referrals are also made to other community resources for education, employment and counseling. For more information please make sure and research the following:
