Starting a Neighborhood Watch
(or Block Watch) is actually very easy!
- Just call the Neighborhood Watch Coordinator at (509) 477-3055 to get information and an application
- Fill out the organizer application and submit to the Neighborhood Watch Coordinator
- Schedule a meeting with your neighbors and invite a Crime Prevention Deputy and/or the Neighborhood Watch Coordinator. We'll give a presentation on crime prevention tips and provide various materials on deterring crime.
It's as simple as that! After that, it's up to you how often you want to meet with your neighbors. We'll provide newsletters for you to email or distribute to your neighbors, and you will be added to our confidential email list to receive important notifications. For those interested, we can also make additional presentations to your neighborhood or group throughout the year.
Presentation Topics Available to Citizens:
- Personal and Home Safety
- Identity Theft
- Internet Safety
- Investment Fraud
- Drug Awareness
- Terrorism Awareness
- Map Your Neighborhood--for emergency preparedness

Spokane County Crime Prevention Office at the Valley Mall
Go to the main mall entrance that is next to Sears on the West side. When you enter, the office is immediately to your right. Please feel free to stop by if you are in the area. We are open every day from 9am to 8pm, but please call to be sure we are available. If for some reason you don't find someone there, we hope you will understand that volunteers staff the front desk and sometimes are not able to make it due to illness or other commitments. We do hope you'll try again or give us a call.
