Homelessness Prevention Program
Federal Recovery Funds Used to Prevent Homelessness
The Spokane County Community Services, Housing, and Community Development Department is partnering with local agencies to assist people on the brink of becoming homeless and directly administers the Spokane County Homelessness Prevention Program.
Many households that are now eligible may have had little or no exposure to social service programs and don't know where to find assistance. The Homelessness Prevention program will help guide applicants through the process and connect you with other community resources if necessary.
Spokane County's Homelessness Prevention Program is available to those living in the unincorporated areas, and the neighboring cities and towns of Airway Heights, Cheney, Deer Park, Fairfield, Latah, Liberty Lake, Medical Lake, Millwood, Rockford, Spangle, Spokane Valley and Waverly .
Funds are available to qualified applicants for rental assistance and utilities such as water, heat, sewer, and garbage bills. No assistance is provided for mortgage payments, legal or other fees associated with retaining homeowner housing.
In support of long-term household stability, all program participants will be linked with consumer credit counseling.
