Spokane County’s Engineering and Roads Department announced today that beginning on Wednesday, September 23rd and continuing until Saturday, September 26th, road crews will be paving Five-Mile Road from Berridae Road to Waikiki Road. Work will begin each day at 7:00 a.m. and conclude at 5:00 p.m.
The road is currently closed and no detour route has been specified. This is the end of a roadbed enhancement project that included an overlay of the roadbed and some safety improvements (guardrails installed). The project was funded through federal stimulus money.
A map of the site is available at http://www.spokanecounty.org/engineer/content.aspx?c=1510 and click on Traffic Restrictions. From there, go to Five Mile Roads and next to it you’ll see a link titled “View Vicinity Map.”
