I-1033, R-71 and Prop. 4 Defeated in Spokane County General Election

The Spokane County Elections Office counted 84,083 ballots tonight and due to the late rush of ballots today, they still have 40,000 in hand that have yet to be counted. Today, elections officials received more than 12,000 ballots in the mail and another 11,000 were deposited in special Ballot Drop Boxes or at Voter Service Centers. Spokane County has 257,092 registered voters and today’s returns represent a 32.71% voter turnout.

Tonight’s preliminary results show that two statewide ballot measures are going down to defeat in Spokane County; Initiative 1033 at 57.19% and R-71 at 60.26%. Meanwhile, Proposition 4 (Community Bill of Rights) in the City of Spokane has been defeated with a significant margin of 75.16%.
