On March 18, 2014, the community came together to bury the unidentified female who was found on January 10, 2014 in the Spokane River. Her body was found on the South Side of the river near East Empire. Everything possible has been done to identify this woman, all leads have been exhausted.

A funeral service was held at Fairmount Memorial Park Cemetery on Tuesday March 18, 2014. Fairmount Memorial Park provided a cemetery plot to Spokane County at a discounted rate. Hennessey Smith Funeral Home provided a casket and transportation of the deceased to the cemetery at a greatly reduced rate. The Spokane County Sheriff’s Department Chaplains volunteered their time to perform a service. Staff of the Office of the Medical Examiner were in attendance. The Medical Examiner’s Office would like to thank all of the above community partners for their kind work and contributions.

The Medical Examiner’s Office believes that somewhere there are family and/or friends who are missing this woman, we hope that someone will recognize the description and features of this woman and come forward to give us a name.
