Last night, May 29th, 2014, at about 8:00 p.m., Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a one-vehicle collision near the intersection of West Long Lake Road and West South Bank Road. Deputies arrived on scene to find a SUV ‘s roof wrapped around
a large pine tree. Medics declared the adult female driver deceased at the scene.
According to collision investigators, it appears excessive speed and possibly intoxication were the causing factors of the collision. The vehicle was traveling northwest on Long Lake Road, drove off the south shoulder, overcorrected and slid off the north shoulder
of the roadway. The vehicle became airborne and struck the large pine tree with the roof of the vehicle.
The investigation is on-going and the Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the victim and provide the cause of death after an autopsy is completed.
