Spokane County Sheriff’s Office General Boating Safety Tips
As the weather warms, families and friends in Washington love to gather outdoors and spend time on the water. To keep it fun and safe, please take these simple precautions.
** First and foremost – wear a life jacket. It’s the most important thing you can do to stay safe on the water.
** Second – Take a boater education course, and get your boater education card. In most cases of accidental boating deaths, the operator had not received boating safety instruction.
** And never go boating while under the influence – whether you’re the operator or the passenger.
Boat smart and have fun!
