Fair Ambassadors

The Interstate Fair selected four young adults to serve as the 2008 Fair Ambassadors. Selected were Madolyn Bayle (Spokane Community College), Jeannette Thompson (West Valley High School), Angela Wolfe (Deer Park Home Link), and Emma Wolfe (Deer Park Home Link). The Ambassador's Award, given to any one, any exhibit, or any booth, was awarded to the El Katif Food Booth in 2008.

Special Award Winners

Each year the Fair gives five outstanding achievement awards to exhibitors at the Spokane County Interstate Fair for their efforts. This year's Red, White and Blue Award winners were:
  • Advanced Window Fashions (Auxiliary Building Commercial)
  • Country Homes Power Equipment (Outside Commercial)
  • Eastern Washington University (Bay 1 Commercial)
  • Pennsylvania Dutch Funnel Cakes (Portable Food Booth)
  • Spokane Valley Kiwanis (Permanent Structure Food)
The Fair also gave a special award to the food or commercial booth that tied into this year's Fair Theme (We've Got a Good Thing Growing) most closely. This year's award was given to Alpine College (Commercial). Congratulations.

Washington State Fair Commission Black & White Award

Each year the Fair is visited by a State Fair Commissioner who has the awesome responsibility to select one or two outstanding exhibit(s) at the Fair. This year's winners were the Grange Booth Department (Bonnie and Tom Reed) and the Inland Empire Beekeepers Association booth.
