Revised Code of Washington
The Revised Code of Washington (RCW) is the compilation of all permanent laws effective in all jurisdictions throughout the State of Washington. The Washington Administrative Code (WAC) is a compilation of official agency rules adopted by various state agencies to implement the provisions of the RCW. They have the full effect of law.
In addition to the RCW and WAC, the Board of County Commissioners has the legislative authority to adopt local environmental ordinances, as well as local land use and construction codes and ordinances.
A list of state and local codes and ordinances that the Building and Planning Department is responsible for enforcing can be found below. Because of the significant role fostering responsible development in the community, they are listed here as reference material when you are planning your next development project.
