Maintenance Responsibility
Side sewers connect your property to the sewer system in the street. The County is only responsible for maintaining the public sewer main. The sewer service line from the home to the sewer main in the street is privately owned.
Keep it clean by not flushing trash or grease down your drains.
If you are planting trees, or doing other outdoor work, always call 811 before you dig, to prevent potential damage.
Tree roots can be a common cause of clogs and are the homeowner's responsibility if they go through your side sewer.
If you suspect a side sewer problem, we recommend calling a plumber to inspect your line.
