The HARPS program consists of two certified Peer Support Specialist and one Housing and Community Support Specialist who assist individual's transition from institutional settings into permanent supportive housing, provide the basis for supportive housing services, and provide integration opportunities. The HARPS team:
- Assists eligible individuals to find and maintain a decent, safe, and affordable place to live with respect to their choice in housing an dliving arrangements
- Helps individuals with access to housing and privacy
- May provide deposit and rental assistance subsidies for eligible individuals
- Offers peer counseling and support to enhance access to and retention in permanent support housing
- Mentors individuals to promote hope and empowerment
- Provides education and advocacy
- Teaches symptom management
