The Spokane County Transfer Stations are now accepting latex and oil based paint. This service will be available 7 days a week in the recycling or Household Hazardous Waste drop-off area. For additional locations that will take paint, please visit the Paintcare map to see participating drop off locations in WA state.

Paint: Paint - Latex and oil based for household use: 

Recycle - accepted in recycling area 7 days a week, limit 15 gallons per visit. This site accepts latex and oil-based house paint, stains and varnish in containers up to 5 gallons in size. This site also takes most other household hazardous waste – contact the site for details and restrictions. Please do not bring empty, leaking or unlabeled containers. 

Household paints interior exterior, latex, acrylic, water-based, oil based, enamel, deck coatings, floor paints (including elastomeric), primers, sealers, undercoaters, stains, shellacs, lacquers, varnishes, urethanes, waterproofing concrete, masonry, wood sealers and repellants (not tar or bitumen-based), metal coatings, rust preventatives, and field and lawn paints. are accepted as paint recycling.

Not accepted as paint recycling: (Accepted as HHW, weekends only):

Paint thinners, mineral spirits, solvents, aerosol paints (spray paint), auto and marine paints, art and craft paints, caulking compounds, epoxies, glues, adhesives, paint additives, colorants, tints, resins, wood preservatives (containing pesticides), roof patch and repair, asphalt, tar bitumen-based products, 2 component coatings, deck cleaners, traffic and road marking paints, Industrial Maintenance coatings, OEM paints and finishes, containers that are leaking or empty.
