Bridge No. 1506 | County Road Project C3333 Project Type: Bridge Replacement Project Manager: Michael Duke Jr., P.E. Design Year: 2024 Construction Year: 2026-2027
This bridge replacement is located on Gordon Road just west of Euclid Road in west Spokane County, Section 4, T 25N, R 41E, WM. The existing bridge, which crosses Deep Creek, was constructed in 1980 and is currently posted with weight restrictions. Distress observed in the bridge girders prompted the County to apply for and receive a federal grant in 2023 to replace the bridge.
The existing bridge is 111 feet in length and 26 feet wide curb-to-curb. The new bridge will be constructed with 42” precast concrete deck girders founded on driven steel pile. It will be lengthened to approximately 115 feet long and widened to 26 feet curb-to-curb. Approaches on the east and west ends of the bridge will also be reconstructed as needed to accommodate the new bridge elevation. Both the bridge and roadway will remain in their original footprint and elevation with some localized widening. The project footprint will stretch approximately 300 feet along Gordon Road, starting approximately 100 feet west of the existing bridge. A temporary traffic detour will be in place during construction.
Slated for construction in 2027, the project is expected to take approximately 4 months to complete. Engineers will be working closely with impacted property owners, regulators, and the public to ensure a successful project. The project will be funded by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
