Sealing & Destruction of Juvenile Records

Under certain conditions of the law, you may be eligible for sealing or destruction of your Spokane County Juvenile Court records.

Information about the criteria for sealing or destruction of juvenile court records can be found in the following RCWs:

RCW 13.50.260  -  Sealing hearings - Sealing of records.

RCW 13.50.270  -  Destruction of Records.

Although you may have met the criteria to seal or destroy your juvenile record in juvenile court, your juvenile record information may be disclosed by other government or private agencies.

APPLY TO SEAL OR DESTROY YOUR JUVENILE RECORDS

Fill out the request form below to determine if your juvenile records are eligible to be sealed or destroyed. After you complete this form, a Juvenile Records Specialist will review your information and conduct a background check to determine eligibility. You will receive a letter in the mail or by email whether or not you qualify to have your juvenile records sealed or destroyed.

If you qualify, you have three options to seal or destroy your juvenile records:

(1) You can petition the court yourself (you'd be responsible for filling out all required court paperwork and notifying all affiliated agencies to seal or destroy your records)

(2) You can hire a private attorney to petition the court on your behalf, or

(3) You can pay Spokane County Juvenile Court an administrative fee of $100, and we will fill out all of the required paperwork, petition the court on your behalf and notify all affiliated agencies to seal or destroy your records.
