Veterans Day Observed - County Offices Closed
Friday, November 10, 2023
SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. – In observance of the annual Veterans Day holiday, Spokane County offices will be closed on Friday, November 10, 2023. However, please note that the North County (22123 N. Elk-Chattaroy Road, Colbert) and Spokane Valley (3914 N. Sullivan Road) Transfer Stations will remain open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday (see attached map).
The Spokane County Board of Commissioners also reminds the public that this week is set aside for “Operation Green Light for Veterans”. The County Courthouse Tower will be illuminated with green lights beginning November 6th through November 12th as part of a nationwide effort to support military veterans. Now in its second year, Operation Green Light is spearheaded by the National Association of Counties (NACo) to raise awareness around the unique challenges faced by many veterans and the resources available at the county level to assist veterans and their families. Citizens are encouraged to join Spokane County by displaying a green light in the windows of their homes and businesses.
For more information about Operation Green Light for Veterans, visit the National Association of Counties website. Information about Spokane County Veterans Services is available at www.spokanecounty.org.
