[ARCHIVED] Plowing, sanding and de-icing underway where needed.

This morning's snowfall is expected to turn to rain later in the day...but crews are working in all four road districts to plow, sand and de-ice where it's needed.

While we don't expect as much snow as you see in the photo, it's a good reminder to stay back from snow removal equipment!

We also appreciate that winter can be a challenging time for many folks and that sometimes it turns to anger. Please consider this a friendly reminder that crews are doing their best to maintain more than 25-hundred miles of road. You may feel justified in confronting a plow operator, but NEVER block road equipment! You could be charged with Disorderly Conduct, which is a misdemeanor.

Threatening equipment operators and/or climbing onto equipment will result in a call to 9-1-1 and depending on the severity of the encounter, could result in an Assault Charge.

Be advised that the situations mentioned above are taken very seriously. The safety of our operators and also the public are our utmost concern!
