Fatal Crash in North Spokane County

Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Investigators responded to the scene of a one vehicle crash where the driver was pronounced deceased and two passengers were transported to a local hospital.

On June 2, 2018, just after 9:00 p.m., Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a one vehicle crash in the 18700 block of S. North Bank Rd. in North Spokane County.

Initial information indicated a 1997 Chevrolet P/U was traveling south on S. North Bank Rd. when it attempted to pass another vehicle.  The young adult driver lost control of the vehicle, went off the roadway and struck a fence and a tree.

The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The two young adult passengers were transported, one by ambulance and one by Life Flight, to a local hospital for treatment.

Traffic Instigators were called to the scene and S. North Bank Rd. will remain closed for several hours as they continue the investigation.  Impairment, speed and reckless driving appear to be possible contributing factors of this fatal crash.

The Spokane Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the deceased at a later time, when appropriate.

An updated condition of the passengers is not available at this time.
