Sexual Assault Unit Detectives Arrest Suspect for Possessing Child Pornography
Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Sexual Assault Unit Detectives arrested 29-year-old John H. Huscusson for four counts of 1st Degree, and one count of 2nd Degree, Possession of Depictions of a Minor Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct.
After receiving a “tip” and information from the ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) Task Force and NCMEC (National Center for Missing and Exploited Children), Sexual Assault Unit (SAU) Detective Scott Streltzoff began an investigation into a report of images believed to be child pornography being uploaded to a cloud-based storage server.
Detective Streltzoff obtained three search warrants during the investigation to view the reported images and seize them as evidence. The explicit images were of nude girls whose ages ranged from an estimated 6-months to approximately 8-years old.
Search warrants also revealed the suspect’s name (Huscusson) as well as additional account and address information. Multiple explicit images and videos of young girls were located along with additional information pertaining to the identity of Huscusson. The images/videos ranged from unidentified adult male and female committing sexual acts with the victims and victims who were nude or in various stages of undress.
During the investigation Detective Streltzoff learned Huscusson was on federal probation for an unrelated crime and contacted his U.S. Federal Probation Officer. He confirmed Huscusson was living at a residence in the 1700 block of E. Dalke which coincided with the suspected internet account information.
On July 26, 2018, Detective Streltzoff, assisted by additional SAU Detectives and the U.S. Federal Probation Officer, arrested Huscusson at his residence. After his arrest, a pair of “brass knuckles” were found in Huscusson’s pocket during a search.
After being informed of his rights, Huscusson admitted he lived at the residence and to using the internet there but denied uploading the depictions of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct and soon after, stopped answering questions.
Huscusson was transported and booked into the Spokane County Jail for 4 counts of Possession of Depictions of a Minor Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct 1st Degree, one count of Possession of Depictions of a Minor Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct 2nd Degree and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon for possessing the brass knuckles.
During a search of Huscusson’s residence, various items of evidence were seized, including three cell phones. This investigation is ongoing as evidence/electronic devices seized as a result of the search warrant are examined. Additional charges are possible.
