Three New Lateral Deputies Join Your Spokane County Sheriff’s Office

On August 6, 2018, Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich swore in three new lateral Deputies and welcomed them to the Sheriff’s Office.  They will start their training immediately and with their previous law enforcement experience, should be out on patrol very soon.

Deputy Jerod Bulpin: Deputy Bulpin is 27-years-old and previously employed as a Deputy with the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office in Aztec, NM since 2015.  Before starting his law enforcement career, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2010 to 2014.

Deputy Christopher Gunter: Deputy Gunter is 38-years-old and from Camarillo, CA.  He was previously employed with the Port Hueneme Police Department since 2010, where he served as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Drug Recognition Expert and a Range Master.

Deputy Calen Hayes:  Deputy Hayes is 30-years-old and joins us from the Airway Heights Police Department (AHPD) where he’s been employed since 2016.  Prior to his service with AHPD, he was a Corrections and Patrol Deputy with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office where he started his law enforcement career in 2015.

Please help us welcome our new Lateral Deputies and their families to our community and our law enforcement family.
