Young Child Pulled from Frigid Spokane River-North Spokane County


This afternoon, a young child playing in the snow near his home fell into the icy cold Spokane River, west of Nine Mile Falls, in North Spokane County.  

 

On February 10, 2019, prior to 12:30 p.m., Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies and Spokane County Fire District 9, responded to a 911 call advising a young child, playing with his dogs in the snow, fell into the cold water.  Within minutes, the child’s father, and neighbors, pulled him from the water.

 

The 2-year-old male was transported to the hospital, and at last report, in critical condition.
