[ARCHIVED] Serious Injury Crash on East Day Mt. Spokane Road

Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a serious injury collision on East Day Mt. Spokane Road and Lowe Road in North Spokane County yesterday afternoon at approximately 4:15 p.m.

Deputies learned a red Ford pickup, traveling north, failed to stop at the stop sign at Lowe Road and East Day Mt. Spokane Road. The Ford collided with a Honda Accord traveling west on East Day Mt. Spokane Road.

The adult male driver of the Honda was seriously injured in the crash and was air lifted to a local hospital by Med Star due to his injuries. His injuries are severe but he is listed in stable condition.

Collison Investigators responded to the scene and believe impairment was a factor.

The 36-year-old male driver of the Ford was evaluated by Deputy Todd Miller, a Certified Drug Recognition Expert (DRE). After the evaluation, Deputy Miller obtained a search warrant for a sample of the driver’s blood. The sample will be sent to the Washington State Crime Lab for testing.

This investigation continues and the driver could face charges of Vehicular Assault, a felony.
