[ARCHIVED] Deputies & Air 1 Search for Escaped DOC Inmate Worker

Early this morning, just after 2:30 a.m., Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were notified an inmate of the Olympic Corrections Center, based out of Forks, WA, had escaped.

The inmate, 24-year-old Juan A. Cruz-Grijalva, was assigned as a kitchen worker for a fire training academy at the Deer Park High School. The inmate was last seen behind the high school at approximately 2:00 a.m. A search by K9 Units and Air 1 has, so far, been unsuccessful.

Cruz-Grijalva was last seen wearing Khaki Jeans, white t-shirt or a long sleeved gray thermal type shirt and possible a stocking cap.

He is described a 5’ 04”, approximately 140 pounds. He has a tattoo on his left cheek of 3 dots, on his right cheek, a tear drop and he also has a 3” scar on his forehead. He was serving time for Robbery 1st Degree.

It is unknown where Juan A. Cruz-Grijalva may be heading or in which direction. Anyone who sees Juan A. Cruz-Grijalva is asked to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
