One-Vehicle Fatal Crash in West Spokane County

Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit Investigators were called to the scene of a one-vehicle fatal crash in West Spokane County.  The adult male driver, and only occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

On July 26, 2019, at approximately 12:45 p.m., Spokane County Deputies responded to the scene of a single-vehicle crash just off Wood Road, near Martha Lane.  A passerby reported the vehicle was on its side and a male was trapped inside.

Deputies, Spokane County Fire, and AMR personnel arrived at the scene where, unfortunately, the driver was pronounced deceased.

Initial information indicates the SUV was traveling south on Wood Rd. when it began to go off the west side of the roadway onto the shoulder.  The vehicle suddenly veered to the east, crossed over the northbound lane of travel, left the road and began to roll.

Traffic Unit Investigators are at the scene and will be conducting an investigation to determine the factors which lead to this fatal incident.

SIRT Team volunteers responded to assist with traffic control during the investigation.

The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the driver at a later time, when appropriate to do so.
