
Help Us Welcome Seven New Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies
On Thursday, August 1, 2019, Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Undersheriff Dave Ellis swore in seven new Deputies. They are attending the Basic Law Enforcement Academy held here in Spokane and will hopefully graduate in December.
Deputy Jason Burks: Deputy Burks is from Texas and 48-years-old. He recently retired from the United States Army after serving 29-years where he earned the rank of Command Sergeant Major.
Deputy Anandae Clark: Deputy Clark is 25-years-old and from the Nine Mile Falls area. She attended Eastern Washington University via a Track and Field Scholarship where she competed in the Pole Vault. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Deputy Andrew Dresback: Deputy Dresback is 30-years-old, from Spokane, and is the nephew of retired Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Detective Jim Dresback. Deputy Dresback attended the University of Idaho where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and played quarterback for the Vandals.
Deputy Christopher Garwood: Deputy Garwood is 35-years-old and from Lacy, Washington. He attended Eastern Washington University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. Before joining the Sheriff’s Office, he worked for the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services as a Juvenile Rehabilitation Counselor.
Deputy Jason Lee: Deputy Lee is 25-years-old, from Deer Park and is an Eagle Scout. He earned an Associate of Arts Degree from Spokane Falls Community College and worked as an Apprentice Funeral Director prior to joining the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy Matthew Pierson: Deputy Pierson is 30-years-old and from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He attended the University of Idaho where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Deputy Jordan Sowell: Deputy Sowell is 25-year-old and from Spokane. He earned an Associates of Arts Degree from Spokane Falls Community College and worked as a Corrections Officer for Spokane County Detention Services prior to joining the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
