Child Rape Suspect Arrested in California

Today, Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Sexual Assault Unit (SAU) Detective Jeff Rogers received information suspect 32-year-old Marco A. Rocha was taken into custody by U.S. Marshal’s in Fresno, CA.   During an investigation, Detective Rogers established Rocha as a suspect in a child rape, but Roach fled Spokane County before he was arrested.

In May of 2019, Detective Rogers began investigating a report of sexual abuse involving a young female child known to him.  During the investigation, probable cause to charge Rocha was developed, supported by evidence and subsequent interviews, with Rape of a Child 1st Degree and Kidnapping 1st Degree.

Detective Rogers attempted to contact Rocha but was unsuccessful.  A warrant was obtained charging Rocha with Child Rape 1st Degree.

U.S. Marshal’s located Rocha at a residence in Fresno, CA and safely took him into custody.  Rocha was booked into the Fresno County Jail where he awaits extradition back to Spokane County.

As this continues to be an active investigation, no further information is available at this time.
