Major Crimes Detectives begin Death Investigate after Body Discovered in the Roadway

Please Avoid the Area-Use an Alternative Route for Your Morning Commute


** Mead School District is on a 2-Hour Delay **

Spokane County Major Crimes Detectives are conducting a death investigation in the area of Farwell, east of Pittsburg, in North Spokane County.  

 

On March 10, 2020, at approximately 3:40 a.m., an AMR Ambulance Crew discovered a deceased adult body on Farwell, east of Pittsburg. 


Spokane County sheriff’s Deputies and Major Crimes Detectives responded to the scene to conduct a death investigation to learn what occurred and how the person died. 


The Mead School District was advised of the incident and is currently on a 2-hour delayed start.


The intersection of Farwell Road Pittsburg is closed to traffic, and Farwell is closed between Pittsburg and the Newport Hwy. (Hwy. 2).  Please avoid the area and use an alternative route for your morning commute.  


Anyone who observed anything suspicious in the area of Farwell and Pittsburg last night, between midnight and 3:30 a.m., or can provide any information regarding this investigation is urged to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233, reference #10031924.


The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the deceased at a later date when appropriate.
