Death Investigation on Farwell Now a Homicide Investigation

Two Suspects Arrested 

 

With new information learned during the investigation, Major Crimes Detectives considered the death of the adult female, whose naked body was discovered on Farwell Road, just east of Pittsburg Street, early Monday morning, as a homicide.   

 

The Major Crimes Unit, with the assistance of Investigative Analysts and Deputies, continued to tirelessly work to determine a timeline and facts of what lead to the victim’s death and the discovery of her body prior to 3:40 a.m. on March 10th, 2020.


Working in conjunction with the Spokane Medical Examiner’s Office, the victim was identified.


Through the information developed, as the investigation moved forward, Detectives identified a vehicle the victim was last seen alive in, and additionally, two persons of interest, identified as 23-year-old Journey N. O’Donnal and 27-year-old Robert F. Mead. 


Wednesday evening, Investigators located the vehicle, a black 2008 Honda Ridgeline, and seized it for evidence.  They also contacted and detained O’Donnal and Mead. 


After interviews were conducted, Detectives requested and later in the evening executed a search warrant for an apartment located in the 200 block of E. Lincoln Road. 


Mead was booked into the Spokane County Jail for Murder 2nd Degree and Robbery 1st Degree. 


O’Donnal was booked into the Spokane County Jail for Murder 2nd Degree and Robbery 1st Degree.


The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the deceased at a later date when appropriate.

Major Crimes Detectives begin Death Investigation after Body Discovered in the Roadway

 

Spokane County Major Crimes Detectives are conducting a death investigation in the area of Farwell, east of Pittsburg, in North Spokane County. 

 

On March 10, 2020, at approximately 3:40 a.m., an AMR Ambulance Crew discovered a deceased adult body on Farwell, east of Pittsburg.


Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies and Major Crimes Detectives responded to the scene to conduct a death investigation to learn what occurred and how the person died.


Anyone who observed anything suspicious in the area of Farwell and Pittsburg last night, between midnight and 3:30 a.m., or can provide any information regarding this investigation is urged to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233, reference #10031924.


The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the deceased at a later date when appropriate.
