Under statutory authority granted to the County Treasurer during a state of emergency, Treasurer Michael Baumgartner announced an extension of the regular property tax due date in Spokane County from April 30th to June 15. This extension applies only to 2020 first half property taxes due in Spokane County. For mortgage loan service providers that pay taxes on behalf of property owners, the deadline remains April 30th. The June 15th extension is intended to provide tax relief to those needing more time to pay due to the pandemic and related government economic shut down.
Spokane County Landlords/Property Managers/Property Owners of residential rental properties directly financially impacted by the Governor’s extension of the statewide eviction moratorium may request an extension of first half property taxes through October 15th. The October 15th extension requires a signed declaration be returned. For most properties in Spokane County, the deadline for first half taxes was June 15th.
