For Immediate Release – Severe Storm Warning

National Weather Service Spokane (NWS) reports that Spokane County needs to prepare today for severe weather late afternoon and evening.

Spokane Co. can expect Severe Thunderstorms beginning at approximately 7PM and moving out of our area by 9PM. 

These storms can produce large hail, damaging winds from 40-50 mph. and localized flooding. This is a very unusual weather pattern and is likely a one in ten-year event. Confidence is high that the storm will be severe. Please take precautions, pick up anything that could be picked up by the wind and endanger people and property. Stay inside and away from windows when you hear thunder or see lightning. Also, bring your pets inside. 

This warning needs to be taken very seriously. 

All indications from the National Weather Service is the storm throughout Spokane Co. has the potential to be severe and threaten lives and property.
