[ARCHIVED] Sheriff’s Office Welcomes 10 New Deputies

On Monday morning, July 25, 2016, Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich swore in 10 new deputies and welcomed them at a ceremony held with the deputies’ family and friends. They are scheduled to attend the Washington State Basic Law Enforcement Academy starting August 2, 2016 held here in Spokane.

We would like to introduce our new deputies to our community. Please help us welcome them to the Sheriff’s Office and wish them a safe and rewarding career in Spokane County.

Deputy Kyle Aagard is 34 years old and grew up in Wilsonville, Oregon. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in History from Brigham Young University – Idaho. He served as a Military Police Captain in the U.S. Army and was most recently stationed at Joint Base Lewis McChord.

Deputy Ryan Krastins is 30 years old and originally from Las Vegas, Nevada. He was active duty in the U.S. Air Force as a Security Forces counter sniper and is still serving with the Air National Guard. He has recently attended WSU, where he was a member of the varsity crew team.

Deputy Brandon Cinkovich is 25 years old and originally from Renton, Washington. He moved to the Spokane area to attend EWU. He has been employed at the Excelsior Youth Center, where he worked with at risk youths. He enjoys baseball and has competed at the collegiate level.

Deputy Luis Jimenez is a 22 year old native of Moses Lake, Washington. He served as a Reserve Deputy for Grant County Sheriff’s Office for about a year and is fluent in Spanish.

Deputy Alexx Bullion is 25 years old and originally from Puyallup, Washington. He has lived in Spokane for the past 10 years and was employed by Durham School Services as a diesel mechanic. He is currently active in the Marine Corps Reserves.

Deputy Alex Velikodnyy is a 24 year old Spokane native and has served as a Co Op volunteer for the Spokane Police Department since 2011. He has worked in the mortgage and private security industries, and he is fluent in Russian and Ukrainian.

Deputy Mitchell Othmer is 28 years old and a Spokane native. He has been employed by Spokane County Detention Services for the past 1 ½ years and he is an avid hockey player.

Deputy Kalin Nichols is 25 years old and grew up in Everett, Washington. He worked as a marine mechanic before deciding upon a career in law enforcement. He enjoys riding dirt bikes in his free time.

Deputy Russell Aldrich is a 27 year old native of Everett, Washington. He worked as a resident fire fighter while attending EWU where he earned a degree in Outdoor Recreation. He is an avid back country skier and accomplished mountaineer.

Deputy Roman Maier is a 29 year old Spokane native. He comes to us from Spokane County Detention Services, where he has worked alongside his father, Corrections Officer Stacy Maier.
