SWAT Assists Safe Streets Task Force Investigators with Search Warrant – Three Suspects Arrested for Robbery 1st Degree

Spokane Reginal Safe Streets Task Force (SRSSTF) Investigators with the assistance of the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team safely served a search warrant at a residence in West Spokane County.  The three suspects were arrested, and a reported stolen firearm was recovered.

On July 19, 2020, a Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputy contacted a victim reporting he had been robbed at gunpoint.

The victim stated he contacted an “escort” he found on a website and made arrangements to meet her in a parking lot near Geiger and I-90.  She got in the victim’s car, and they drove to a different location and pulled over.

As they finalized the arrangements for their “date”, two male suspects approached the victim’s car.  The female exited the vehicle and walked to the suspect’s car.  One of the suspects pointed a handgun at the victim while demanding his money, which was in addition to the cash the female had when she walked away.

When the victim saw an opportunity, he started his car and sped away.

With the suspects armed with a pistol and their unabashed, violent criminal act, members of the Spokane Regional Safe Streets Task Force joined the investigation.  They gathered evidence and established probable cause to obtain a search warrant for a residence located in the 7700 block of W. Sunset Highway.

The Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team’s assistance was requested due to the violent nature of the crime and the probability the suspects were still armed.  This morning at approximately 6:00 a.m., members of the SWAT Team and SRSSTF served the search warrant at the residence, safely detaining the three suspects without incident.

A .45 ACP handgun was located and determined it was reported stolen on July 15, 2020.

The suspects, identified as 20-year-old Mark A. Santel, 19-year-old Angelina J. Uno-Peake, and 18-year-old Michael A. Uno-Peake, were arrested and booked into the Spokane County Jail.

Mark Santel and Michael Uno-Peake are charged with Robbery 1st Degree and Assault 2nd Degree.

Angelina Uno-Peake is charged with Robbery 1st Degree.

This remains an active investigation and additional charges are possible.

The Spokane Regional Safe Streets Task Force is composed of the FBI, Spokane Police Department, Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, Spokane Valley Police Department, United States Border Patrol, and the Washington State Department of Corrections.
