UPDATE: Robbery Suspect Identified and Charged

With “tips” received from community members responding to the press release sent on September 2, 2020, Spokane Valley Major Crimes Detective Melville identified the robbery suspect as 39-year-old Jered R. Y. Fullen.

On September 8, 2020, Detective Melville contacted Fullen, who was being held at the Spokane County Jail for unrelated charges.

Fullen matched the description provided by loss prevention employees. In addition, his tattoos matched the appearance and location of the robbery suspect’s tattoos depicted in the photos obtained from the store security video.

From the investigation, Detective Melville developed probable cause to charge Fullen with Robbery 2nd Degree stemming from this incident.  His bond is set at $5,000 on this charge, and he also remains in custody on a Washington State Department of Corrections hold.

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office and Spokane Valley Police Department would like to thank everyone who submitted “tips” during this investigation.  We also thank you, our community, for your continued support and trust.  It is only with your continued support and willingness to work with us to keep our community safe that we can effectively work to hold people who commit crimes in our community accountable.

Can You Help Identify the Male in these Photos?

The Spokane Valley Major Crimes Detectives are attempting to identify a robbery suspect and would like your help.

On August 20, 2020, at approximately 7:00 p.m., Home Depot Loss Prevention employees called to report a commercial robbery.

Responding Deputies learned a male entered the store, located at 5617 E. Sprague, and caught the attention of a loss prevention employee.  She observed him put several items in a basket as he peered around to see if anyone was watching him.

He walked toward the exit doors and past the registers without paying for the items.  The employee, wearing plain clothes, walked next to the male as he approached the exit doors.

Suddenly, the male bolted toward the parking lot with the merchandise.  She reached out and grabbed the handle of the basket, but the male kept his grasp and pulled hard, swinging the employee in a circle.

The male let go of the basket and fled past a uniformed security employee.  He ran to a 4-door silver Kia, parked on the other side of the parking lot, got into the rear driver’s side door before the car rapidly exited the parking lot.

The suspect was described as a white male of average build and height. (approximately 5’09 to 6’00” and 220lbs to 250lbs) Several tattoos are visible on his lower legs and the inside of his right forearm.

The vehicle is believed to be a silver 2005 Kia Spectra, 4-door, with Idaho license plates.

If you can help Investigators identify the male suspect or provide any additional information regarding this incident, you are asked to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233, reference #10109831.
