SPOKANE COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS ROAD CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE FOR OCTOBER 29 to NOVEMBER 5, 2021

ROAD CONSTRUCTION


57th Ave- Perry St. to Mt. Vernon Rd.
Constructing ADA ramps, median island construction, HMA grinding and paving. The road is open to through traffic and speed reduced to 25-mph. Motorists should expect delays starting on Tuesday, November 2nd and are advised to be cautious around workers and equipment near the edge of the roadway. Completed: November 30, 2021.

 

Appleway Ave Reconstruction
Improvement of Appleway Ave. by removing asphalt and concrete pavement, planning bituminous pavement, grading and shaping crushed surfacing, HMA, guardrail, pavement markings. Completed: November 30, 2021.

Appleway Av: from Spokane Bridge Rd to Spokane Bridge Rd 
Motorists should expect delays in both directions and all lanes at the intersection of Appleway Ave. and Spokane Bridge Rd. Appleway from the Liberty Lake City limits to Spokane Bridge Road is open to through traffic. Please slow-down in the work zone.

 

Bigelow Gulch Phase 3
Road Reconstruction (remove and replace), culverts, stormwater, guardrails and illumination system. Completed: October 31, 2021. 

Weile Avefrom Thierman Rd to Bigelow Gulch Rd 

Motorists should expect lane restrictions (both directions, both lanes). Road is OPEN!

 

Columbia Dr-Northwood to Argonne. 
Roadway Excavation, ADA ramp installation, pavement removal and repaving. Lane closures and flagging. Completed: October 31, 2021.

Columbia Dr: from Northwood Dr to Argonne Rd 
Flaggers may be present in both directions and all lanes. 

 

Frideger Road Bridge Replacement
The road is CLOSED while the existing bridge is being removed for the construction of a new structure over the Little Spokane River. The project includes the removal of the existing roadway and widening with the construction of the new roadway. Completed: October 31, 2021.

Frideger Rd: from Bridge #4902 Over Little Spokane River to Bridge #4902 Over Little Spokane River – Road is CLOSED – Bridge OUT!
Flaggers may be present (both directions, all lanes): Detour route in place on Bridges Road, Madison Road and Frideger Road. 

 

Wellesley Railroad Crossing Improvement
Removing pavement, crushed surfacing top course, HMA, cement concrete curb, guide posts, pavement markings, permanent signing, temporary traffic control. Completed: Dates vary – see below. 

Wellesley Av: from Railroad Av to Murray Rd 
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes): Watch for flagger's, road closures, lane restrictions, detour route. Completed: October 29, 2021.
 
Garland Av: from Molter Rd to Murray Rd 
Lane Restrictions (both directions, all lanes): Watch for flaggers & detours. Completed: November 30, 2021.
 

PRIVATE CONTRACTOR WORK BY PERMIT

 

Fruitvale North Town Homes 
Mountain Crest crew (509-263-5231 is working on water and sewer tie-ins, asphalt paving and grading. Completed: November 15, 2021.

Fruitvale Rd: from Aero Rd to January Dr. 
Road is closed on Fruitvale between Aero and January Dr. 

 

Water Tie-In and Sewer Crossing for Spokane International Airport
Halme Construction crew (509-725-4200) is working on water tie-in and sewer crossing. Dates: November 1-11, 2021.

Craig Rd: from McFarlane Rd to Thorpe Rd 
Road closed from McFarlane to Thorpe Rd. 


ROAD MAINTENANCE

(Road maintenance projects are subject to change due to weather conditions and other road maintenance priorities)


Asphalt Overlay on Various Roads in Spokane County 
Overlay is a paving method of applying a new layer of asphalt to a deteriorating surface.

Seven Mile Rd: from Inland Rd to River Rock Ln.
Motorists should expect delays in both directions and all lanes. Be prepared to stop and watch for flaggers. Completed: November 9, 2021.

 

Monroe Rd: from Austin Rd to Woolard Rd. 
Motorists should expect delays in both direction and all lanes. Be prepared to stop and watch for flaggers. Completed: November 2, 2021.
