Spokane County road crews worked late into the evening on Thursday and returned at 4 a.m. Friday morning to plow, sand/deice more than 51-hundred lane miles of road (the largest county road system in Washington State). Today, crews are working with graders at higher elevations that received more snow, while others are applying sand and granular deicer at locations prone to forming ice (intersections, hills, curves and bridges). With more precipitation in the forecast this weekend, crews will be out on Saturday and possibly on Sunday. Motorists are reminded to stay 50-feet behind our equipment and never attempt to pass on the right. For more information, go to www.spokanecounty.org/publicworks. Public Works’ Snow Plow Activity Map is also updated regularly.
