Sometime during the evening of August 24, 2016 or early morning hours of August 25, 2016, Holmberg Park located at 9615 N. Wall and Whitworth University soccer and softball fields were vandalized. Crime Stoppers of the Inland Northwest is offering a cash reward for anyone providing information leading to an arrest in these incidents.
At Holmberg Park, the suspect(s) drove through the grass, shredding it, and wrecked the fence around the pool. The fence repairs could cost $1000 - $2000 depending on what portions can be salvaged. The grass, with some work by the Spokane County Parks Crews, will eventually grow back.
This is a senseless crime that affects all the people who visit Holmberg Park, as well as all the citizens of Spokane County who will ultimately pay for the repairs.
Although it is not known if the incidents are related, similar damage was done to the Whitworth University soccer and softball fields during the same time frame.
In both incidents, the suspect(s) were possibly driving a large or full sized pickup based on the tire marks.
Anyone with information regarding these incidents are urged to report it to Crime Stoppers or better yet, if you are responsible for this damage, step up and take responsibility for your actions before we find out who you are.
