Safe Streets Task Force Releases Video of Shooting on N. Pines

Investigators Ask for the Public’s Help

 

The Spokane Regional Safe Streets Task Force (SRSSTF) is requesting the public's help as they continue investigating the shooting that occurred on January 30, 2022, in a parking lot in the 2100 block of N. Pines Road in Spokane Valley.  

 

Thankfully, no one was reported to have been injured; however, SRSSTF members would like your help with identifying the shooter. They also ask anyone who witnessed this incident or may have information that could be useful in this investigation to please call Crime Check at 509-456-2233 and report it. 

 

In this newly released video, you can see the suspect begin firing toward a white SUV that approaches the location.  The suspect moves behind a vehicle, using it as cover, and repositions toward the rear of the SUV, firing again.

 

As you can see in the video, multiple people were in the immediate area and could have been hit by stray bullets fired by the suspect.

The task force is dedicated to keeping our streets safe by fighting violent crime, including gang activity and drug trafficking.

Detectives Investigate Shooting in Parking Lot - Vehicles Struck, No Known Victims Hit

 

Spokane Valley Deputies responded to a reported shooting in the 2100 block of N. Pines Road in Spokane Valley.  A vehicle that appeared to have been shot and spent casings were located.   However, they did not find anyone who had been shot.  

 

Due to the nature of this incident, Major Crimes Detectives were called to the scene.  

 

On January 30, 2022, at approximately 3:30 am., a caller reported hearing gunshots north of his location.  A few minutes later, a second caller reported a full-sized SUV appeared to have been shot several times in a parking lot in the 2100 block of N. Pines Road.  

 

When Deputies arrived, they contacted four individuals but did not locate a shooting victim. 

 

Due to the nature of this incident, Major Crimes Detectives were notified, and they continued to investigate into the early evening.

 

At this time, a shooting victim has not been identified, and Investigators have only received limited information regarding what may have led up to it.  From this initial information, Investigators do not believe this was a random incident or an ongoing threat to the public.
