In a new process, we are offering a preview of submitted proposals and an opportunity for interested parties to share with us any early thoughts or concerns. Comments will become part of the record and will be shared with decision-making bodies. The County review process requires that the proposals be initiated individually by the Board of Commissioners. Building and Planning will present an early review of each for compatibility with County guiding documents, including the Comprehensive Plan, to the Planning Commission on February 24, 2022. We expect to take the amendments to the Board for initiation consideration on March 15, 2022.
If initiated, a full evaluation of each proposal will be conducted by the Building and Planning Department, as well as a cumulative impacts analysis of all. This analysis will be shared with the Spokane County Planning Commission which will hold public hearings on the proposals during the summer of 2022. The Commission will then make a recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners who will decide if the proposals are approved or denied.
Questions? Please contact Robert Brock or Saegen Neiman, planning project managers listed for each amendment.
Thank you for your interest and support of Spokane County's growth and development.
