[ARCHIVED] Ice concerns this weekend - crews applying de-icer in advance of the next weather system.

Overnight freezing temps. mean icy roads - new weather system will bring a snow and rain mix by Sunday morning.

There is a chance of patchy, black ice developing overnight and into the early morning hours this weekend...and a new weather system will bring a mix of rain and snow to the region by Sunday morning. Road crews have applied a de-icer to areas prone to developing black ice (hills, bridges, curves, 4-way stops). Motorists should be alert for icy roads during the evening and early morning hours.

Another weather system will move into the area Saturday night, bringing light accumulations of snow to higher elevations in Spokane County.  A mix of rain and snow is expected Sunday morning.  As temperatures warm up, rain is in the forecast for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
