ROAD CONSTRUCTION

Belle Terre Road

Project includes improvements to Belle Terre Road-Evergreen Road to Adams Road by planning existing pavement, cement treated base, HMA, storm sewer pipe, catch basins, drywells, traffic control and other work. Completed: August 30, 2022.

Belle Terre Av
: from Evergreen Rd to Suncrest Dr
Expect delays (both directions, all lanes). *Residential and Emergency access ONLY. .*Moving Operations.* Expect a two-hour delay for E Belle Terre Ave and S Best Ct intersection

Belle Terre Av
: from Terra Verde Dr to Adams St
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). No access from Belle Terre Ave. Use South Ball Detour through May 20th. Watch for construction in the roadway and flaggers.
 
Bigelow Gulch Rd - Phase 6
Improvements to Bigelow Gulch Road include clearing and grubbing, roadway excavation, borrow, embankment compaction, precast concrete drywells, culverts, pedestrian tunnel, structure excavation, illumination system. Completed: October 31, 2022.

Forker Rd
: from Bigelow Gulch Rd to Progress Rd
Lane Restrictions (Both Directions, All Lanes): Progress Road Opened at Bigelow Gulch/ Forker Road. Open at Progress Road. DETOUR ROUTE THROUGH 10/31/2022

Progress Rd
: from Wellesley Av to Spokane Valley City Limits
Road closed: Progress Road from the intersection of Progress and Bigelow to the intersection of Crown and Progress. DETOUR ROUTE THROUGH 10/31/22

Sullivan Rd
: from Upland Dr & Ct to Wellesley Av
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). Watch for flaggers during construction.
 
Sullivan Rd: from Wellesley Av to north city limits of Spokane Valley
Road Closed: Sullivan Road from the intersection of Wellesley and Sullivan Road to the City limits ROAD IS CLOSED.
 
Wellesley Av: from Progress Rd to Tolford Rd
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). Watch for flaggers during construction.
 
Waikiki Road Bridge
Improvement of the Waikiki Road Bridge No. 2606 -Rehabilitation of the concrete deck by scarifying the existing slab, replacing the concrete overlay, and asphalt approaches will be raised to match the new deck elevation.

Waikiki Rd: from Mill Rd to Rutter Parkway
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). One-lane roadway over bridge will be controlled by automatic signals. Beginning May 20th the bridge will closed for weekends and a detour will be in place.

Install Sewer Connection
Crews installing sewer connection. Completed: May 19, 2022.

Henry Rd: from 8th Av to Sprague Av
There is a full road closure and a detour on Henry Rd.
 
Installation of 12-inch Water Line
Crews installing a 12-inch water line. Dates: May 16-23, 2022.

Craig Rd: from Thorpe Rd to McFarlane Rd
Craig Rd will be closed between Thorpe and McFarlane.

Kramer Parkway Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation of the Parkway. Dates: May 16-19, 2022.

Barker Rd: from Sprague Av to Appleway Av
Henry Rd will be closed. Detour to Barker Rd & E. Sprague

ROAD MAINTENANCE

(Road maintenance projects are subject to change due to weather conditions and other road maintenance priorities)

Asphalt Overlay

Apply asphalt over large areas of roadway for preservation. Dates: May 23-26, 2022.
 

Chattaroy Rd: from US-2 (Newport Hwy) to Elk-Chattaroy Rd
            Road closed – open to local traffic only.
 
Crack Sealing
Application of a flexible sealant in cracks to prevent further break up on asphalt roads. Completed: Various dates.

44th Av
: from Conklin Rd to Chapman Rd
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). Flaggers may be present.
Completed: May 31, 2022.

Chapman Rd
: from 44th Av to 32nd Av
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). Flaggers may be present.
completed: June 2, 2022.

Linke Rd
: from Chapman Rd to Long Ln
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). Flaggers may be present.
Completed: June 1, 2022.

Short Rd
: from Curtis Rd to End Gravel/Start Pavement
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). Flaggers may be present.
Completed: May 27, 2022.

Grading gravel roads

Crews are grading gravel roads as the weather permits. Grading cuts down “washboard” surfaces and creates a smoother traveling surface.

Shouldering
Requires leveling and building up the gravel shoulder that has sloughed off. Completed: Various dates.

Assembly Rd: from 29th Av to Hallett Rd
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). Motorists should watch for flaggers. Completed: May 26, 2022.
 
Hallett Rd: from Assembly Rd to Thomas Mallen Rd
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). Motorists should watch for flaggers. Completed: May 31, 2022.
 
Inland Rd: from Old Trails Rd to Seven Mile Rd
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). Motorists should watch for flaggers. Completed: May 31, 2022.
 
Old Trails Rd: from Inland Rd to Trails Rd
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). Motorists should watch for flaggers. Completed: May 24, 2022.
 
Seven Mile Rd: from SR-291 to Coulee Hite Rd
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). Motorists should watch for flaggers. Completed: May 25, 2022.
