[ARCHIVED] Fatal Motorcycle Crash Investigation on E. Mansfield Avenue

Fatal Motorcycle Crash Investigation on E. Mansfield Avenue

Spokane Valley Deputies and Traffic Unit Investigators are at the scene of a fatal motorcycle crash in the 12900 block of E. Mansfield Avenue in Spokane Valley.

On June 3, 2022, at approximately 5:20 pm., Spokane Valley Deputies responded to a reported vehicle/motorcycle crash on Mansfield, between Houk Road and Discovery Place.  A caller stated a male motorcycle rider appeared unconscious and not breathing.

Spokane Valley Fire arrived and provided medical care as Deputies began contacting witnesses and controlling traffic.  Unfortunately, the adult male rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Spokane Valley Traffic Unit Technicians were called to the scene, as were SIRT Volunteers to assist with traffic control.

Initial Information from witnesses indicates the motorcycle was traveling east on Mansfield at a high rate of speed and passed a car traveling in the same direction.   It continued east and struck a Dodge truck, driven by an adult male, that was turning onto Mansfield.  The driver of the truck was not injured and is cooperating with Investigators.

Please avoid the area as this is an active investigation and a highly congested area due to multiple apartment complexes.  Mansfield Avenue is closed in both directions in the immediate vicinity of the crash scene.  Depending on where they live, residents of the apartment buildings will need to enter the parking lots from the east or west of the scene.
