[ARCHIVED] N.A. Degerstrom, Inc. selected for Euclid Road Bridge Project.

Commissioners Choose Firm for Replacement of Euclid Road Bridge

The Spokane County Board of Commissioners have taken another important step in the continued progress in the long effort to replace the Euclid Road Bridge in west Spokane County. During the consent agenda meeting this week, Commissioners unanimously voted in favor of selecting N.A. Degerstrom, Inc. to construct the replacement of the Euclid Road Bridge.

Spokane County Public Works began advertising for a contractor for this project in early May. Bidding for the project was open for four weeks. The construction project will include the removal of the old bridge, construction of the new reinforced concrete bridge and road approaches, paving, installation of signage, striping, erosion control, guardrails and other work. The bridge will cross over BNSF railroad tracks. The new bridge will be owned, operated and maintained by Spokane County.

Spokane County Commissioner Al French represents the area where the Euclid Road Bridge is located. Over the course of the last three years, Commissioner French has worked persistently to bring the necessary stakeholders together to continue progressing the conversations about the bridge replacement and to get the agreements finalized.

Commenting on this latest advancement for the Euclid Road Bridge replacement, Commissioner French stated, “We are nearing the final chapter of this long and drawn-out project. I want to thank the residents in that area, our service members from the SERE School at Fairchild, and Burlington Northern for their patience and persistence. Now that a construction firm has been selected it won’t be long until we are able to restore access to that route which will dramatically increase the quality of life for local residents and our Fairchild service members.”
