ROAD CONSTRUCTION
Bigelow Gulch Rd - Phase 6
Improvements to Bigelow Gulch Road include clearing and grubbing, roadway excavation, borrow, embankment compaction, precast concrete drywells, culverts, pedestrian tunnel, structure excavation, illumination system. Completed: October 31, 2022.
Forker Rd: from Bigelow Gulch Rd to Progress Rd
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes): Progress Road Opened at Bigelow Gulch/ Forker Road. Open at Progress Road.***Intersection of Wellesley and Sullivan will be CLOSED June 20 through August 12, 2022.
Progress Rd: from Wellesley Av to Spokane Valley City Limits
Road closed: Progress Road from the intersection of Progress and Bigelow to the intersection of Crown and Progress with detour route.***Intersection of Wellesley and Sullivan will be CLOSED through August 12, 2022.
Sullivan Rd: from Upland Dr & Ct to Wellesley Av
Lanes CLOSED (both directions). The intersection of Wellesley and Sullivan will be CLOSED through August 12, 2022.
Sullivan Rd: from Wellesley Av to north City Limits of Spokane Valley
Road Closed: Sullivan Road from the intersection of Wellesley and Sullivan Road to the City limits ROAD IS CLOSED.
Wellesley Av: from Progress Rd to Tolford Rd

Add gravel base to road to prep for application of road oil. Completed: July 14, 2022.

Asphalt Overlay
Apply asphalt over large areas of roadway for preservation. Completed: July 12-14, 2022.

Chip Seal/Seal Coat
Oil is applied to road surface then road chip rock added and rolled into oil, creating a new road surface. Date: July 11, 2022.
Cheney-Spangle Rd: from Wells Rd to US-195
Expect delays (both directions, all lanes). Motorists will follow a pilot vehicle through the work zone.
Old SR-195 Hy: from Powers Rd to Spangle City Limits
Expect delays (both directions, all lanes). Motorists will follow a pilot vehicle through the work zone.
Crack Sealing
Application of a flexible sealant in cracks to prevent further break up on asphalt roads. Completed: July 14, 2022.
Prairie View Rd: from Spring Valley Rd to Waverly City Limits
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). Slow down in the work zone and watch for flaggers.
Truax Rd: from Fairfield City Limits to Idaho Rd
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). Slow down in the work zone and watch for flaggers.
Culvert Cleaning/Ditching
Annual Maintenance. Completed: July 14, 2022.
Cheney-Plaza Rd: from Wells Rd to Old SR-195 Hwy.
Flaggers may be present (both directions, all lanes). Motorists are reminded to slow down in work zones and to watch for crews.
Shouldering
Leveling and building up gravel shoulder that has sloughed off. Completed: July 14, 2022.
Melville Rd: from Spotted Rd to SR-904

Short Rd: from Montgomery Rd to Stevens County Line
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). Slow down in work zone and watch for flaggers.
Spotted Rd: from Bridges Rd to Stevens County Line

Storm repair
Repair gravel road from prior rain storms. Completed: July 7, 2022.
Harvard Rd Branch: from Harvard Rd to East End Of Road
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). Slow down in work zone and watch for flaggers.
Grading Gravel Roads/Street Sweeping
Crews are grading gravel roads as the weather permits. Grading cuts down “washboard” surfaces and creates a smoother traveling surface. Again, as the weather permits crews are sweeping streets to remove gravel and reduce the amount of airborne dust.
