ROAD CONSTRUCTION


Bigelow Gulch Rd - Phase 6
Improvements to Bigelow Gulch Road include clearing and grubbing, roadway excavation, borrow, embankment compaction, precast concrete drywells, culverts, pedestrian tunnel, structure excavation, illumination system. Completed: October 31, 2022.


Forker Rd: from Bigelow Gulch Rd to Progress Rd
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes): Progress Road Opened at Bigelow Gulch/ Forker Road. Open at Progress Road.***Intersection of Wellesley and Sullivan will be CLOSED June 20 through August 12, 2022. 


Progress Rd: from Wellesley Av to Spokane Valley City Limits
Road closed: Progress Road from the intersection of Progress and Bigelow to the intersection of Crown and Progress with detour route.***Intersection of Wellesley and Sullivan will be CLOSED through August 12, 2022.


Sullivan Rd: from Upland Dr & Ct to Wellesley Av 
Lanes CLOSED (both directions). The intersection of Wellesley and Sullivan will be CLOSED through August 12, 2022. 

 

Sullivan Rd: from Wellesley Av to north City Limits of Spokane Valley
Road Closed: Sullivan Road from the intersection of Wellesley and Sullivan Road to the City limits ROAD IS CLOSED.

 

Wellesley Av: from Progress Rd to Tolford Rd 
Lanes CLOSED (both directions). The intersection of Wellesley and Sullivan will be CLOSED through August 12, 2022.

Kramer Parkway Rehabilitation

Road Closed: Henry Rd closed. Detour to Barker Rd & E. Sprague


Needham Hill at West Terrace

Hayford Rd: from Richland Rd to Melville Rd
Road CLOSED: Hayford and Richland to Hayford to Duckhook. Detour signs will direct traffic from Melville to Thomas Mallon & Westbow to Aero Rd.


Timber Valley Estates F-0197

Cedar Rd: from Montgomery Rd to Enoch Rd
Road CLOSED from W. Montgomery Rd. from N. Cedar to N. Tudor & N. Cedar Rd. to Enoch Rd.


Water Main Installation 
Whitworth Water District transmission project in Zones 3-8. Completed: August 1, 2022.

Dartford Dr: from Commellini Rd to Mill Rd
Motorists should anticipate a “rolling” road closure on N. Dartford Rd. from Commellini Rd to Mill Rd.

Hayford Rd: from 59th Ave to Geiger Blvd
Road CLOSED on Hayford from 59th to Geiger Blvd.


Water Main Installation – UP-EA-2021-015

Hazard Rd: from Dartford Dr to Austin Rd
Road CLOSED: HAZARD ROAD CLOSURE AT DARTFORD


CITIZEN EVENT BY PERMIT

Pioneer Day Celebration Parade and 5K Fun Run
Parade and 5K Fun Run. Date: July 23, 2022. Contact: Church of Christ LD – (509) 926-2664.


40th Av: from Evergreen Rd to Belle Terre Av
Road CLOSED: Close 40th Ave for 1/2 hour (9 am -9:30 am.) Close it from the Church on 40th to Evergreen Rd. Direct traffic East and West on 40th to take alternative routes of Evergreen to 46th Ave or 46th to Evergreen. Road Closed Ahead Signage


Spokane to Sandpoint Relay
All day event on July 22, 2022. Use caution around runner on or near the roadway and expect possible lane restrictions. 

 

Following areas will be impacted: Greenbluff, Orchard Prairie, Market Street, Mead, Five-Mile Prairie, Indian Trail and Nine-Mile area. 


ROAD MAINTENANCE

(Road maintenance projects are subject to change due to weather conditions and other road maintenance priorities)


Adding gravel base to road
Add gravel base to road to prep for oil shot. Completed: July 28, 2022.


Julia St: from Wilding Av to Lincoln Rd
Expect lane restrictions in both directions and all lanes. Please slow down and watch for flaggers. 


St Michaels Rd : from Orchard Rd to Lincoln Rd
Expect lane restrictions in both directions and all lanes. Please slow down and watch for flaggers. 

 

Wilding Av : from Rebecca St to Yale Rd
Expect lane restrictions in both directions and all lanes. Please slow down and watch for flaggers. 

 

Asphalt Overlay
Apply asphalt over large areas of roadway for preservation. Completed: July 25 to August 2, 2022.


Aspen Meadows Dr: from Short Rd to Lois Dr
Expect delays in both directions, all lanes. Slow down and watch for flaggers.


Crack Sealing
Application of a flexible sealant in cracks to prevent further break up on asphalt roads. Completed: July 28, 2022.


Hauser Lake Rd: from Muzzy Rd to East Newman Lake Rd
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). Slow down in the work zone and watch for flaggers.


Muzzy Rd: from West Newman Lake Rd to Hauser Lake Rd
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). Slow down in the work zone and watch for flaggers.


Culvert Cleaning/Ditching
Annual Maintenance. Completed: August 4, 2022.

 

Austin Rd: from Dartford Dr to Hazard Rd.
Flaggers may be present (both directions, all lanes). Motorists are reminded to slow down in work zones and to watch for crews.

 

Grading Gravel Roads/Street Sweeping
Crews are grading gravel roads as the weather permits. Grading cuts down “washboard” surfaces and creates a smoother traveling surface. Again, as the weather permits crews are sweeping streets to remove gravel and reduce the amount of airborne dust.
