ROAD CONSTRUCTION


Bigelow Gulch Rd - Phase 6
 Improvements to Bigelow Gulch Road include clearing and grubbing, roadway excavation, borrow, embankment compaction, precast concrete drywells, culverts, pedestrian tunnel, structure excavation, illumination system. Completed: October 31, 2022. 


Forker Rd: from Bigelow Gulch Rd to Progress Rd
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes): Progress Road open at Bigelow Gulch/ Forker Road. Open at Progress Road – use as detour.***Intersection of Wellesley and Sullivan is open with four-way stop signs. Outside lanes are closed.
 


Progress Rd: from Wellesley Av to Spokane Valley City Limits
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). Progress Road from the intersection of Progress and Bigelow Gulch – to the intersection of Crown and Progress.


Sullivan Rd: from Upland Dr & Ct to Wellesley Av 
Flaggers may be present (both directions, all lanes). The intersection of Wellesley and Sullivan is open with four-way stop signs. Outside lanes are closed.

 

Sullivan Rd: from Wellesley Av to north City Limits of Spokane Valley
Sullivan Road is CLOSED from the intersection of Wellesley and Sullivan Road to the City limits 

 

Wellesley Av: from Progress Rd to Tolford Rd 
The intersection of Wellesley and Sullivan is open. Slow down and watch for flaggers.

 

Elk Chattaroy Road-Laurel Road to Drew Lane

Preparation of existing roadway for placement of HMA overlay along with tree clearing, crushed surfacing shouldering, traffic control, signing, striping and other work. Dates: September 19 to November 30, 2022. 


Elk-Chattaroy Rd: from Laurel Rd to Drew Ln
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). There may be possible lane closures. Please slow down, watch for flaggers and wait patiently for the pilot car to guide you through the project. 


Euclid Road Bridge 
Removing and constructing new bridge and road approaches; including asphalt pavement, signing, striping, erosion control, filter drain, beam guardrail, and miscellaneous structures. Project start TBD/tentatively begins in late September, 2022.

Euclid Rd: from Bridge #1508 over Burlington Northern Santa Fe tracks to Lyons Rd. Road Closed: Bridge is closed. Use Detour. 


Little Spokane Connection Road and Separated Pathway
Crews will construct a separated, shared-use path with HMA. The project will include a crushed rock surface, roadway excavation, embankment compaction, concrete curbing, culvert pipe, ditch excavation, temporary erosion, sediment and traffic control. Completed: September 30, 2022. 


Wandermere Rd: from Little Spokane Dr Connection to Dartford Dr
Lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). Local access only.

 

Sunset Hwy Bridge Removal. 
The removal of the existing bridge and restoration of the creek banks on N. Fork Deep Creek. The project includes the bridge removal, creek diversion, and streambed gravel. Completed: October 28, 2022.


Sunset Hy: from Bridge #0514 Over North Fork Deep Creek to Bridge Over North Fork Deep Creek
Road Closed: Bridge Closed- Please use detour in place.

Kramer Parkway Rehabilitation
 Kramer Parkway Rehabilitation. Completed: September 19, 2022.

Barker Rd: from Sprague Av to Appleway Av
 
Road Closed: Henry Rd closed. Detour to Barker Rd & E. Sprague.

 

ROAD MAINTENANCE

(Road maintenance projects are subject to change due to weather conditions and other road maintenance priorities)


Asphalt Overlay
Apply asphalt over large areas of roadway for preservation. Completed: September 19, 2022.


Colbert Rd: from Bernhill Rd to Boston Rd
Lane restrictions and expect delays (both directions, all lanes). Flaggers will be present.

 

Deer Park-Milan Rd: from Deer Park City Limits to US 2 (Newport Hwy.)
Lane restrictions and expect delays (both directions, all lanes). Flaggers will be present.


Elk-Chattaroy Rd: from Nelson Rd to Drew Ln.
Lane restrictions and expect delays (both directions, all lanes). Flaggers will be present.


Milan Rd: from Deer Park-Milan Rd to Milan-Elk Rd
Lane restrictions and expect delays (both directions, all lanes). Flaggers will be present.


Starr Rd: from Hauser Lake Rd to Moffat Rd
Lane restrictions and expect delays (both directions, all lanes). Flaggers will be present.


Starr Rd: from Moffat Rd to SR-290 (Trent Ave)
Lane restrictions and expect delays (both directions, all lanes). Flaggers will be present.


Starr Rd: from West Newman Lake Rd to Hauser Lake Rd
Lane restrictions and expect delays (both directions, all lanes). Flaggers will be present.


West Newman Lake Dr: from Lakeview Rd to Lakewood Ln
Lane restrictions and expect delays (both directions, all lanes). Flaggers will be present.


Woolard Rd: from US 2 (Newport Hwy) to Yale Rd
Lane restrictions and expect delays (both directions, all lanes). Flaggers will be present.


Crack Sealing
Application of a flexible sealant in cracks to prevent further break up on asphalt roads. Dates: September 12-15, 2022.


Rutter Parkway: from SR-291 to Indian Trail Rd
Expect lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). Slow down and watch for flaggers.


Ditching/Shouldering
Watch for workers on the edge of the roadway. Completed: September 15, 2022.


Andrus Rd: from Grove Rd to Cheney-Spokane Rd
Expect lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). Slow down and watch for flaggers.


Ballard Rd: from Dartford Dr to Austin Rd
Expect lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). Slow down and watch for flaggers.


Graham Rd: from SR-904 to Salnave Rd
Expect lane restrictions (both directions, all lanes). Slow down and watch for flaggers.

 

Street Sweeping/Weed Spraying
 As the weather permits crews are sweeping streets to remove gravel and reduce the amount of airborne dust, spraying roadside weeds, and crack sealing. Please slow down in work zones and watch for crews.
