Sheriff’s Office Welcomes 1 Entry-Level Deputy and 1 Lateral Deputy 

 

On September 16, 2022, Spokane County Undersheriff John Nowels swore in two new Deputies, one entry-level and one lateral.  Please help us welcome Deputy Jon Cool and Deputy Broderrick Johnson to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office and our Community.            

 

Deputy Jon Cool is a 29-year-old Entry Level Deputy.  He grew up in Aberdeen, Washington, and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps when he was 18.  He served five years, achieving the rank of Sergeant as an Intelligence Analyst.  In 2017, he was hired by the Washington State Department of Corrections and worked at the Airway Heights Detention Center.   He recently earned his AA degree in Criminal Justice.    

 

Deputy Broderrick Johnson is a 32-year-old Lateral Deputy.  He was born in Sacramento, California, and grew up in the Central Valley area.  He joins our agency from the Hanford, California Police Department, where he served as a patrol officer, a detective, and a SWAT Team member.      

 

Please join us in welcoming our newest Deputies and their families to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office and Spokane County.
