[ARCHIVED] Crews plowing, sanding and grading roads.

County Crews Sanding and Grading

Public Asked to Help Clear Drains

Crews continue to work long hours plowing and sanding paved roads and grading gravel roads throughout the largest county road system in the State of Washington (5,100+ lane miles). As of this morning, standing water is reported in numerous locations and crews are trying to get as close as possible to storm drains and clear them during this rapid thaw. However, the public is also asked to help clear snow, ice and debris from around mailboxes, fire hydrants and storm drains to mitigate flooding.

Motorists are reminded that water is sitting on the surface of compact snow/ice, making road surfaces extremely slick. Please drive for the road conditions and not the speed limit – and give yourself plenty of room to stop! In addition, remember to stay at least 50-feet behind our snow removal equipment and never attempt to pass on the right.
