Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Dishman Mica at 8th
Spokane Valley Traffic Unit Investigators remain at the scene of a fatal motorcycle/vehicle crash at the intersection of Dishman Mica and 8th Avenue in Spokane Valley.
Please avoid the area, as the intersection will be closed for the investigation.
On May 6, 2023, at approximately 11:10 am, Spokane Valley Deputies responded to a report of a motorcycle/vehicle collision in the intersection of Dishman Mica and 8th Avenue.
Spokane Valley Fire personnel arrived, and the male motorcycle rider was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the location and was contacted by Deputies.
Traffic Unit Investigators responded to the scene to continue the investigation, as did SIRT Team Volunteers to assist with traffic control.
Initial information indicates the motorcycle was traveling north on Dishman Mica at what is believed to be a speed higher than the posted speed limit. The vehicle, driven by an adult female, was traveling south on Dishman Mica before turning east on 8th Avenue where the motorcycle collided with the side of the vehicle.
The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the decedent at a later time, when appropriate.
This remains an active investigation, and no additional information is available.
