Update: Deer Park Homicide Investigation

This afternoon, Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Detectives charged 60-year-old Gloria R. Redmann with Murder 2nd Degree.

Investigators arrested Redmann early this morning and booked her into the Spokane County Jail for misdemeanor charges of Making False Statements, Unlawful Disposal of Remains and Failure to Notify Medical Examiner/Coroner.

Initially Redmann told detectives she didn’t know about the deceased victim discovered under a tarp on Redmann’s driveway by witnesess who arrived at the residence to help Redmann move.   Much later during the investigation, Redmann told detectives the victim arrived at her house approximately three days before and she didn’t let him in.  When she later looked outside, she observed the victim lying deceased in her driveway and left the victim lying there covered by tarps, unreported.  Redmann said she attempted to move the victim’s body because she wanted to park her vehicle under the awning of the driveway but was unable to do so by herself.  She covered the victim with additional tarps and went to a nearby bar to ask patrons for assistance moving items at her house.  The male who arrived to help, discovered the victim and left the residence before reporting what he observed.  Redmann said she attempted to move the victim to a small shed adjacent to her driveway but was unsuccessful, so she covered the victim with tarps again.

As the investigation continued today, detectives developed probable cause to arrest Redmann with an addition charge of Murder 2nd Degree.

The Spokane Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the victim, along with cause and manner of death, when appropriate to do so.

This is an active investigation and no further information is available at this time.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is urged to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
